Coronavirus Resources for Retailers

NEAC Stands By Our Retailers

We are living in extraordinary times.  While the NEAC reps greatly miss having seen our beloved buyer community in Manchester in March, we do know that it was best for everyone’s health to postpone our March and April shows.  Still, we know that many in our community are struggling with our new normal.

Because our loyal buyers are NEAC’s greatest asset, our reps have been collecting useful information for all of you.  Below, please find three smart sources for making the most of the social distancing slowdown so we can all get back to business as soon as it is safe to do so!

National Retail Federation

The National Retail Federation is the world’s largest retail trade association. Its members include department stores, specialty, discount, catalog, Internet, and independent retailers, chain restaurants, grocery stores, and other retailers. The organization has long lobbied on behalf of the industry and has amassed a great many resources for retailers during this crisis. Check out their Coronavirus Resources for Retailers page here for the latest on the CARES Act, SBA Loan Resources, and information on assistance for displaced workers.

The Retail Doctor

Many of you follow the Retail Doctor on social media – his information is always timely and useful. Luckily, he’s producing lots of great information for retailers during these turbulent times.  Check out his blog for insight into how you and your customers will be changed when we all start slowly coming back to normal; how to market and sell to your customers during this time; and much more.

Technology Vendors

Many of your technology vendors – POS systems, payment processors, etc. – have put together resources to help you navigate through the coronavirus crisis.  Contact your CRM, e-commerce, and point of sale vendors to learn more about what they might be offering to help customers get through.

And if you’ve been thinking about adding e-commerce or other capabilities, but haven’t yet done it, now would be a great time to start. Many companies are offering free trials and with business slow, you’ve got time to play around and set-up these new systems so you’re prepared to take advantage and come out strong when business starts coming back. Check out these lists of POS vendors; affordable CRM systems for small business; and award-winning e-commerce platforms for inspiration.

Most Importantly, Stay Safe

Most importantly, please stay safe and well.  Wash hands, practice social distancing and please take care of yourselves. We look forward to seeing all of you at a show very soon.
