RELEASE FROM LIABILITY REGARDING COVID-19
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING. BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT, YOU ARE GIVING UP IMPORTANT LEGAL RIGHTS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE RIGHT TO SUE FOR NEGLIGENCE IF YOU CONTRACT THE COVID-19 VIRUS ARISING FROM YOUR ATTENDANCE AT A NEAC SHOW. YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO SEEK LEGAL ADVICE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS RELEASE.
By signing this document, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the inherent risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 while attending a NEAC event, and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, or death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at a NEAC event may result from the actions, omissions, or NEGLIGENCE of myself and others, including, but not limited to, the Association, its officers, board of directors, employees, volunteers, and members and their families.
On my behalf, I fully assume all risks of contracting the COVID-19 virus arising in any way from attendance at NEAC events, even if due to the NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER FAULT of the Association, its officers, board of directors, members, employees and volunteers. I hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless the Association and its officers and board of directors, members, employees and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind, including medical expenses, arising out of contracting the COVID-19 virus arising from my participation in NEAC events.
I understand and agree that I will follow any standards required by the local Board of Heath and NEAC. I understand that the Association and its officers and board of directors, employees and volunteers and all staff in the facility will make every effort to maintain social distancing but that there will be times when incidental contact and less than prescribed physical distancing will occur. I am voluntarily participating in NEAC events, knowing that it is impossible to keep myself or anyone else who enters the shows completely safe from exposure to any infectious disease.
